Looking to improve the comfort of your CI Genesis and/or Echelon picks? These magnetic handles may be what you're looking for.

Here's an Assembly Video

These are sold as individual pick handle pairs (two halves) for either the 20 or 25 thousandths size CI Genesis or Echelon picks. Magnets are included for you! These come unassembled (except 44 Delta themed handles), but assembly is dead simple. See video above

If you are the type of person that really likes to use the original case, and uses CI picks in an EDC fashion, consider getting only one or two of each size (20/25 thou). You can fit a couple of these in your original case.

If, however, you are an at-home desktop lock picker, pick up as many of these handles as you want for your pick collection. The assumption being that you likely store your picks in some kind of organizer on your desk, rather than the original EDC case.

44 Delta has no affiliation with Covert Instruments. These do not in any way modify the original picks, and are simply an accessory with the aim of making your picking experience more comfortable and enjoyable.

Features

  • Numbered on both sides with either 20 or 25, corresponding to the number on the pick you are adding these to
  • Slightly lengthened tail piece for additional comfort and support while picking (adds ~10mm to the length of the pick)
  • Top side finger rest for comfort and added control
  • Notched tail for easy separation of both halves
  • Split handle design with 6 high quality N52 magnets (3 per handle half)
  • Incredible fit-up with your picks securing them tightly
  • Easy assembly/disassembly
  • Awesome color selection
  • 6 N52 magnets included per handle pair

Be Aware

You can fit a few of these fully assembled in your CI Genesis or Echelon case, including the other picks/tools, but not much more. You may need to get creative about which pocket you use for what tool.

Shimming for a Tighter Fit

You may need to shim your raw pick handles to get a truly perfect fit for your needs. It's non-destructive and very easy to do. Please refer to this page for more information: Shimming for a Better Pick Handle Fit-Up

Magnetic, but, but, but... Let me stop you right there. First of all, yes these are magnetic handles. 6 high quality N52 magnets to be precise. I (eschlenz) initially avoided using magnets out of fears that I'd magnetize the pick, which might get annoying in certain circumstances. However, after testing, here are the facts:

  1. Your picks are already up against a magnet when in their case (that's how the case stays shut).
  2. Even with 6 of these high powered N52 magnets lined up along the handle, I was not able to pick up even the tiniest springs I have (ASSA 6K side pin springs) with the tip of the pick.
  3. The vast majority of locks use brass pins, which are non-ferrous (eg: non-magnetic).
  4. Magnetic pick handles are already a "thing" out in production, and are used to good effect.

Dimensions: 91.59mm X 12.2mm X 7.2mm (when assembled)
